Re: [amibroker] Re: AmiBroker and IB Data Feed

Hello,

IB as a feed is not bad at all. It has certain advantages like very small lag
(because they send constant number of updates per second, no matter
how active trading is), world-wide coverage ( has
access to so many exchanges) and the price.

Now with 1-day minute backfill it gets more attractive.

Definitely time spent working on IB is not wasted because
it is not only quote source but also automatic trading platform.

Yes it is sometimes annoying that they don't keep backward compatibility
and break things from time to time, but nobody is perfect and
practically each software has its quirks no matter how good developers are.

In fact I don't find IB to be particularly buggy. In my opinion it is quite solid.
I have seen much more problems generated by other data vendors,
so I think IB is quite good.

Best regards,
Tomasz Janeczko
