Refer to the help file; "Month" and "day" functions have no arguments...

this should be coded;

w = Month()==1 AND Day()==1;
x = Month()==4 AND Day()==1;
y = Month()==7 AND Day()==1;
z = Month()==10 AND Day()==1;
