Thanks Art. Now everything works fine. Here is the code using
international date format (yyyy-mm-dd).

There are lots of systems where the original signal disappears when
the new day of data is added to the data file. This way you can enter
shapes manually on a separate chart to keep track of those signals.

Title = Name() + "  \\c25" + Interval(format=2) + "  " + Date() +
"\\c-1  O=" + O + "  H=" + H + "  L=" + L + "  C=" + C;
Plot( Close, "", 42, 64 );
GraphXSpace = 4;

Date_ = ParamStr("Date","2005-03-08"); /* yyyy-mm-dd */

yy_ = StrToNum(StrLeft (Date_,4)  );
mm_ = StrToNum(StrMid  (Date_,5,2));
dd_ = StrToNum(StrRight(Date_,2)  );

Date_Num = (10000 * (yy_ - 1900)) + (100 * mm_) + dd_;

PlotShapes(shapeDownArrow * (DateNum()==Date_Num), colorRed, 0, H,
-15);
PlotShapes(shapeUpArrow *   (DateNum()==Date_Num), colorBrightGreen,
0, L, -15);
