I am guessing here but you could try this

Have a watchlist or group for all the stocks covered, and a watchlist
for Longs and another for shorts stocks

Then in your buy/short statements

Buy = BuyConditions and inwatchlist(1); // say 1 for longs
Short = ShortConditions and inwatchlist(2); // say 2 for short tickers
