Vishal,

Can TS8 handle portfolio testing like Amibroker? To apply a strategy on a
basket of stocks, i.e. 1000 stocks? I am not talking about its paid
Radarscreen.

Happy b'day Tomasz!

I agree Richard Tomasz is a great guy with lots of good work and I
personally like AB.

But this is business and we have to make sure we are using the tools
which are perfect and help us in trading without wasting much of our
time.

I regret to say AB is far from this yet. The way its going it may
reach there in 3 years time but not yet.

Tradestation 8 is very powerfull and the comments which I had here
were about previous version of TS2000i. Tradestation 8 is a totally
different product though built on the same principles.

Its Easy Language, scrolling of windows so you can see more than 7
charts in one window itself, System testing, backtesting, portfolio
management, alerts, various studies and vast indicators which have
been written over all these years, a big user base, applying one
indicator over another indicator(Like RSI of CCI) and many other
features like that which are so easy to use. In AMI yo uhave to code
for al lthese and if you get a pre-written code yo uahve to struggle
with its bugs. Ami is not object oriented thjats its problem wit hthe
charting.

Ami's charting is very primitive at the moment. I have to still see
the new beta version. AB is the best EOD trading tool but for not
real time day trading. Look at its real time options it can't even
give you real tick charts unless you use esignal. Why will I use AB
when I already have esignal? Esignal's charting is the best.

For your information, I am a member of one of the very popular
trading rooms on HOTCOMM( Woodies room )with atleast 750 traders
online at any moment. Most of these traders are day traders and deal
future which is a very fast moving market. I have not seen a single
user there posting AMIBROKER chart on this website.

They all use, post and recommend esignal/sierra/Tradestation.
Compared to esignal and sierra, Tradestation is on much above field
and is generally used by professional institutional traders.

Earlier TS used to be very expensive but with their rates coming down
due to more competion from IB and esignal I personally think TS 8 is
the best and worth its money which can aid in your trading.

Just $99 a month with chepest brokerage rates and you get everything
in one place. I do not see any such offer from any package/data
vendor/Broker.

Thanks
Vishal

On this list you will find countless people who CAN DO WHAT THEY WANT
TO DO only because Tomasz listened and added the required features.
He has done this hundreds of times, for many people. I myself still
grumble a bit now and then (just like you i want it yesterday!) but
over the years I have seen so many requests implemented that I don't
even dare to quess how many there may have been. I am sure this is
the case for many others as well.
