  hangs when running test

Systems that randomly hang when a large number of
applications are running or a single one that is managing a large quantity of
data are frequently troubled by defective memory - random access
  memory (RAM).

If there isn't enough, windows sometimes loses
it's mind trying to use the hard drive for back up memory or simply crashes
when it can't find a little RAM to use.  Computers are still
relatively primative things in terms of development and they just don't always
work perfectly.  Windows machines generally need to be rebooted daily to
refresh memory allocations if they are used intensively.

Second problem might be that a memory stick is
defective.  Everything works just find till it hits that last bad
flip-flop at some address toward the end of memory.  To test for that,
boot the computer in the same sequence and start applications in the same
sequence.  If it hangs pretty close to the same place, but doesn't do it
if you start the troublesome program first, it's probably the
  memory.

If you have more than one stick, you can remove
or swap locations to see which one is the problem.

Memory is so cheap these days that you can save
hours of frustration just by replacing it and going back to work.  I've
had this happen 3 times on different computers only to identify the memory as
the problem after hours of looking for software conflicts or
bugs.

  Good luck,

  Mike

    foten hangs when running test

Hello,
It was written many, many times but here it
    comes again:
in order to fix the "problem", the problem has to be
    reproduced.
Problems that can not be reproduced can not be
    fixed.
I do not know what formulas/settings you are using,
and
what you do in AA (scan/backtest/exploration/ ???)
so this discussion is
pointless without seeing actual case details
I wrote this already but
apparently this needs to be repeated:
You would need to
    provide
details to support at amibroker.com:
- the database (data
    source) you are using
- formula
- trade list
- settings file
    (.abs)
- ticker list you were testing on
- set of parameters you claim
    produce problem, etc....
Best regards,
Tomasz
