Herman,
eSignal had server problems yesterday. There is a long thread on elitetrader

As for showing status in AB it just shows what it receives from eSignal API,
when it receives "disconnect" message from eSignal API it changes
status. Yes it takes a while for eSignal API to "detect" that there is a problem.
If plugin does not receive "disconnect" message from eSignal data manager then
it displays "OK".
