I tried ConText first too, for a while, but UE is really very much better.
It probably depends on what you use it for, but I use regular expressions
moderately often, and they actually work well in UE. Its syntax highlighting
is better too.

But it does cost a little money, so if you're happy with ConText, maybe
don't worry about it. I just saw Tomasz say that AB will be able to open
multiple AFL files at once soon, so if that's a major reason you need
anything better than Notepad, that's going away too. On the other other
hand, I think there's a free trial of UltraEdit, so you could take it for a
spin.
