No, you're not alone.
I used to keep an external signal updated by hand, and it was awkward, for
that reason, and also because its safety measures wouldn't allow entry of 0
values (0 and 1 seemed like logical values for a buy/sell signal; had to
settle for 1 and 2).
In general, it seems like it's not designed for informed,
industrial-strength use, more for occasional corrections. I too hope these
issues will be addressed, even if there are only a few people who care, but
I realize it's a low priority.

AB Quote Editor window suffers from not being able to be opened over
anything but AB. I'm sure TJ did not foresee something like this,
nobody can foresee every eventuality. I wonder if I'm the only one.
