Hmmm... I would have said:
- Each Pane displays one formula, as defined in Indicator Builder.
Even though the Builder calls them Indicators, they're really formulas
that can plot as many different things as you want.
- Each Chart sheet can contain one or more Panes.
- Each Window contains the number of Chart Sheets defined here:
Preferences: Charting: Number of chart sheets
- A template is a saved set of Chart Sheets.
The default template is used when you open a new window.
- A layout is a saved set of windows.
Each one can have its own symbol, interval, size, and Chart Sheets.
See the User's Guide:
Tutorial: User Interface: Working with chart sheets and window layouts

Hi Yuki,
Here is my understanding of the Layout-Template concept:
Panes contain one Indicator each.
Chart Sheets contain one or more Indicators.
Windows contain a user-definable number of Chart Sheets.
The look and feel of a Chart Sheet (e.g., which Symbol, individual
Pane-heights and timeframe) can be saved as a Template.
Amibroker can display multiple Windows, each displaying a different
Template-defined Chart Sheet. Layouts are a way to save this presentation.
HTH,
John
