[amibroker] Re: What's wrong with this backtest?

Folks,

I upgraded my Amibroker to the beta version 4.57 before I took a long
business trip. When I got back a few days ago and first started up
Ami (with intent to then open Amiquote to download the last few weeks
of end-of-day US markets data) I noticed that I was seeing a blank
Ami window where I normally see the QQQ data chart. I checked other
symbols and all appeared blank.

Next I checked to see if my \Amibroker\US-Stocks\ folder was intact.
All the subfolders seem to be populated with the data files for each
symbol (over 6000 among the lettered and numbered subfolders).
Seeing the "last modified" date, it appears I last updated my end-of-
day data on the 19th of June. The files all have nonzero file-size.

Next, I tried to "Open Database" from the "File" drop-down menu
within Ami. I pointed to my database directory and it didn't pull in
the data. I thought that maybe I needed to re-set the working
directory, but under File-Database Settings, the entry for Database
Folder has the correct path and folder designation.

I'm stumped. I guess I could revert to the last baseline version of
Ami (4.50). If that is the next logical step, do I simply run the
4.5 install executable and it will over-write the beta 4.57? I fear
that I'll still have this database problem.

Anyway, would someone or somefew offer some suggestions? Steps?
Reference to earlier discussion on this group?

Appreciate any help.

Michael
