The data supply I use automatically updates the MS database history for
splits etc and does not add in any extra history days. All I have to do is
remember to run the program and its auto timer does the rest for me.

Im not sure I follow.
When I get an update (eg split/merge etc) it's one datafile that contains
the entire history @ corrected price.
