Sometimes Japanese attempts at communication in English can be
embarrassing for Japanese. Once in a while, the result might be
embarrassing for foreigners.

We went to Mizumoto Park (clearly visible on the front of the trash
cans if you read Chinese characters) on Sunday. There on the trash
cans, clearly, in English, were instructions on apparently where your
dog or cat, or other animal friend, should be deposited while you
stroll through the park. ^^_^^ In Japanese, just above that, it
clearly says "Pet *bottle(s)* (PolyEthylene Terephthalate bottles),
but English speakers are left to puzzle this out for themselves.

Of course, it also clearly says, in Japanese, *empty* cans and
*empty* bottles. Perhaps they don't care if foreigners' cans and
bottles are empty or full. ^_-
