Very recently this forum covered a solution for industry groups starting around post 38416 and earlier a lot of work was discussed around 34663 regarding relative strength comparisons. You may find both threads interesting. Anthony also supplied some interesting code in the same general area.

A while back you posted some code to mimic the stock, industry group charts that Dave Landry uses in TC2000. When you get a chance would you mind reposting the code? I can't seem to find it on my end.
