control the number of blank bars shown inside the chart itself. The size of the 
margin to the right of the chart body, where the labels appear, seems to be 
fixed.

completely. It takes up room, and the number formatting isn't "pretty". If I 
want to know the values from the last bar, I can select it and see a fully 
controllable readout in the chart title.
