How's
that, Ron?

Randy said, <<RIGHT click on just the message and
select delete.. RIGHT CLICK, not left..>>

  Peter's solution worked well.  Rightclicking
first opens it, and the objective was to delete it without opening it.

Easier way is to RIGHT click on just the
message and select delete.. RIGHT CLICK, not left...

      Ron,

What I have done is wait until I get the next
email so that the doubtful email has emails either side in time, (or just
re-oder by subject, then highlighted the email above (i.e opened), then
moved the cursor to the email below and then while holding down the shift
key opened the email below.  Now you have three emails
highlighted.  I delete all three and then go to the delete folder and
      retrieve the two good ones.

      Clumsy but I understand it.

      Peter

I just received an obviously fake email entitled
        "Citi e-mail <A
        href="">Verification-mrdavis9@xxxxxxxxxx",
and it does NOT have an attachment.

I want to delete it without it opening it because
of the possibility  that opening it may be the
trigger which causes their scheme to fradulenty use my charge
        card account.

Question#1)>>Is there any way to delete an
email in Outlook Express without it opening first?

        Question#2>>Is it programatically possible,
or impossible, to make the act of OPENING AN
EMAIL

as a trigger for the next step in an online fraud
scheme.  I am referring here only to a
