Hi b,

I understand where you are coming from.

Earthlink and Hotmail impose 10MB and 2MB(i think) limits, respectively, on
me, so I am sensitive to large files being sent without warning.

But I hope folks won't delete too much of the thread to enable easy
thread-following.

As an example, if I were to come back from not having read email for a few
days and saw dingo's
'sorry duude!' message, I would have to go to the Yahoo groups website to
find out what he was referring to. (no big deal, admittedly, but
inconvenient)

OTOH, if folks could keep at least two of the preceding thread components in
their reply, then it is less likely I would need to do that. (_two_ allows
the original email with perhaps the problematic code, and the most recent
thread component).

FWIW, I usually leave my computer and email client on most of the time and
have it set up to periodically--every 30 minutes or so--download my messages
to my hard disk, to preclude the server limits being exceeded.

And when I travel, I can either:

    a) turn my PC off but still look at and delete unwanted emails(or
forward them to the other account) using mail2web.com at the hotel or local
library or

    b) leave my PC on and read email via GoToMyPC.com

PS: Google is about to offer a 1 GB free email service, Gmail
(http://www.google.com/press/pressrel/gmail.html), so maybe this all becomes
moot :)

message size)

Can I request that those posting to this thread edit
replies to keep messages to a reasonable size?

Messages are now about 160K each and often a new message
just adds 1 to 20 lines of new material which means at
least 150K is unnecessary.

When I checked my email there was over 3 MB of new messages
almost all of which was repeated material -- and that
pushed my email account over its limit.

b
