Hi John,

Can't say anything about Roboform, that
bit wasn't part of my post.
It may have been wavemechanic's reply
stuck on the bottom of my message(?)

I don't have any suggestions about calendar
software, sorry.

  Hi Bob,

  Roboform??? I use
Roboform for helping me fill our forms in my browser.

I may have been unclear; i am essentially looking
for cheap, small memory footprint, calendar software to remind me to do things
at a certain time. (and Date Manager is perfect for this, were it not for the
  accompanying ad/spyware)

  Does Roboform have applicable reminder
  capabilities I may have overlooked?

  thanks

      thanks for everyone's
      suggestions!!!

So far, I downloaded and ran Spybot and,
i think, i got rid of quite a bit of ad/spyware...my Friday night
      Norton scan will confirm...

One disapointment is that I may have to pay
$30 to keep the reminder system I have become dependent on (Date Manager
from Gator/GAIN Publishing). It turns out that Gator was prominent on the
list of stuff Spybot found. Can anyone suggest a (ideally
ad/spyware-free and <$30 ) reminder system? GAIN claims their $30
      product is 'GAIN Network advertising'
      free, whatever that means.

Try Ad-aware.  They have a free
program version that's as effective as anything I've tried. They
        have
        regular updates to the reference
file.  It will let you go through the list it finds and select the
        items for
deletion.  On my machine it was able
to get rid of 'sah', which is very hard to eliminate because it

        keeps reinstalling itself.  Ad-aware
        is available from <A
        href="">www.lavasoftusa.com.

Note: It's Ad-aware, not Adware as in the
pest-ware Norton is reporting on you machine.

If you're willing to do manual cleanup, you
        might try www.pestscan.com.
You can run a scan from
        their website.  On my machine
it found more stuff than Ad-aware did, but the free scan
        doesn't do
        any cleanup.

        Take a look at
        RoboForm.

          spyware/adware removal
          Hi,Anyone else having problems removing
adware/spyware threats from their PCs?I am using Symantec's
Norton AnitVirus 2003, which scans my XP Home PC everyweek and,
each time lately, reports 400 or so of these
          threats:    Dialer.Tibs
          Adware.Lop
          Adware.Ipinsight
          Adware.WhenU    Adware.CydoorIt recommends
I delete them, which I attempt to do but they won't delete.(It
then gives me an opportunity to Exclude them from future scans, which
Ihave been reluctant to do.)I have tried following some of
the removal instructions on the Symantec website, involving
starting XP in the safe mode, removing registration keys, etc. but
          to no avail.Anyone have a
          recomendation?thanks-johnSend
