The best way, IMO, is to see AFL as is. I don't find helpfull the
comparison to other languages, the "similar to..." and/or "not
exactly similar to..." would cause troubles.
On the other side, if you don't mind, you may expose some ideas here.
Some members have the time and/or the AFL experience to transform
your idea into [some] AFL lines, useful for you and all the rest.
