This is one of the wonderful things about AB imho. Even on a real-time, tick-by-tick update basis, it still is incredibly fast in providing the info you've alluded to in your post below.
Several other packages I've worked with are horrendous at providing this kind of info on a update every tick basis.

Yes the code is executed as many times as chart is refreshed and may trigger signals for bar that is "building-up" (not complete).

When i look at the RT Minute chart in AB I can see the last bar "develop" as streaming data comes in, when one minute has elapsed a new bar forms.
I would like to know whether, if I set a trigger level in afl, breach of this trigger level can/is detected "before" the bar is completed, i.e. before the minute is up.
Would anybody know how this works?
I know we can create a Tick DB, but that doesn't answer the question.
