One of the best free editor out there is Scite
http://www.scintilla.org/SciTE.html
It's light (470K) but very powerful. Amongst other goodies it has
configurable syntax highlighting. Due to my laziness and low-tech
profile I've not developed a proper AFL syntax highlighting file so I'm
using the built-in C/C++ file but I'm sure it's possible and perhaps
even easy.
