Very interesting.  Thanks.  I notice
too, that they maintain
something I've always said, although not in these
exact words:

"To ensure that the patterns do not display
extreme vertical
asymmetries, the pattern should only be moderately
sloped.  We
require that the right shoulder exceed, and the
right trough not
exceed, the midpoint between the left shoulder and
left trough.
Likewise, we require than the left shoulder
exceed, and the left
trough not exceed, the midpoint between the right
shoulder and right
trough."

Likewise, they have strict horizontal asymmetry
requirements.  All of
this points to my main theory about these, which
is basically that it
has to be rather "beautiful", and
obvious, and if it isn't, it isn't.

DT, you'd probably love this.  Lots of little
Greek letters in the
math formulae.  ^^_^^  (Yuki needs to go
back to university to
understand all this.)
