The kind of behavior you just described scares me.  Seems like there could be a lot of distribution occuring with NEC.  A similar pattern is currently playing out in Avaya (AV) on the NYSE.  Tons and tons of volume but the stock went nowhere for nearly a month, then all of a sudden it dropped 14% in just a couple of days.
