One
problem with OE is, the .pst file that contains ALL email messages is a BIG
database. As is also the case with Access, if you let it get too big, you
become very vulnerable to corruption and crashes.

I am
wondering why you would keep over 5,000 messages in the deleted messages folder.
I am also puzzled that you say you were deleting messages that were in the
deleted messages folder. I usually "empty" my deleted messages
folder.

I wish
I could give you some tips on that repair software, but I have never used it,
just noticed it popped up in the Recent New Files at
Download.com.

Outlook Express problem
Thanks to everyone for the
advice of how to repair the damage that I caused to Outlook
Express. I have started trying the suggestions starting with the
easiest and working my way up. REMINDER, I have a lot to learn about
computers. I just downloaded this Outlook Express repair software
suggeated by Rik, but I aborted the final installation in order to be
absolutely sure of where I need to choose to install it. I am
being ultra cautious before I proceed because I have done damage in the
past by making assumptions that appeared to me to be
obvious. One of the available choices
of where to install it is Outlook Express. Can any of you verify that
this really is location that it needs to be installed? TIA
