How fast does Amibroker run with CSI data, and also the
free yahoo data? I did not see any mention of either of them
regarding speed in the performance notes.
Below the double dotted line, I have pasted an
earlier post which says that CSI data is accessible through the MS
plugin if the CSI data is stored in Metastock format. Can I
store CSI data in Metastock format if I don't have the Metastock software?
Directly after this sentence is what I found in a search for Metastock
Format. It looks very discouraging to a non techie like me.

Step 6: Argh! I'm Stuck With the
Metastock Format
This chapter will discuss various ways to maintain a database of
Metastock formatted data. Remember, you should use the Metastock format
only if you have no other choice. Feel free to contact us if you're unsure
about your options.

with AB
Hello
B,that´s most certainly is correct: you can access CSI data (once
stored in MSformat) thru the MS plugin. But TJ wrote a CSI
plugin some time ago as well.CSI is great, inexpensive, has good
service etc.I use CSI as my data backup plus when I need to see
more historical datathan Qutes Plus to offers
(www.highgrowthstock.com).I definitely can recommend
BOTH!If you have further questions please let me know (off-forum
or on-
forum).-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TC2000???
Hello,The hard disk is the same, but the way the underlying
DATABASE APPLICATION (QP2 vs TC2000)is written is NOT. QP2 core is written
using lightweight and fast database engine,TC2000 database engine is way
slower. Also QP2 has low level, lightweight direct DLL interface for third
party applicationsTC2000's API is clunkly active-x interface that launches
entire fatty TC2000 software in thebackground.See "performance
notes" comments in Tutorial: How to use AmiBroker with external data source
(Quotes Plus, TC2000/TCNet, FastTrack,Metastock) section of the User's
Guide.Best regards,Tomasz Janeczkoamibroker.com-----
