I am trying to figure out how best to do some automated real
time breakouts. I have coded some AFL that in EOD mode shows stocks that are at
the top of a channel. I would like to run that scan repeatedly during the day
to look for names that have moved above the channel top.
If I set up a quote.com based database in EOD mode, will Close
refer to the current quote at the time of the scan or will it refer to the
previous days close. If it is the previous days close, is there a way to get
the current intraday real time quote in AFL? Or do I have to set up a one
minute database (lots of data) and use the new time compression functions to
get the current quote?
Lastly, I can’t figure out why the quote.com plug in
seems to go to the server frequently rather than looking to the internal
database. I do have use internal database turned on. Is there something that I
need to do to cause this to happen?
Side note, very cool package. I set up text to be included
in an email alert that even has URLs on background info on the stock when it is
triggered.
I am so impressed with what Amibroker can do I am sure there
is a way to do all this and if someone could point me in the right direction, I
would appreciate it.
