Hi Tomasz,
Is there a way to set the database purify tool to mark "possible
unadjusted stock splits" that were indeed not splits (AAPL in
September of 2000 would be a great example) so that they would not
keep appearing in subsequent runs?
The AAPL example is a great case of why we can't just accept every
offer to split that the program gives. The stock apparently
disintegrated on the open, losing almost half its value overnight,
but not precisely half. No problem there, as no mechanical way of
doing this is likely to be perfect (although this is very, very
tedious to check each one). However, even when we determine through
research that what database purify has identified as a possible split
was NOT a split, it never goes away. There should be some way to mark
this so the program will not keep flagging it, don't you think?
