Thank you for your considerate reply.

Just backing up to a firewire drive -- of course can change the xcopy 
script to do it less frequently.  So thatis not the main issue at 
all; wasjust surprised to see page after page of files being backed 
up.

Yours and others' comments as to usability, programabiliy, charting, 
rapid explorations are obviously of much greater importance.
