By far the simpliest and fastest is to buy a network card for your 
laptop and a "cross-over" network cable. The cross-over cable avoids 
the need for a network hub. Use the computer with the newest 
operating system to set up the network (use the built-in wizard). 
That wizard will create a floppy disk that will automatically set 
the second computer up to run on the network.

Then just drag and drop to transfer the AB folder.

Even better, get xxCopy (free for individual use). Once set up, it 
will do the transfer with a single mouse click. xxCopy will also 
make backing up your other files a lot easier.
