Custom indicators are saved in broker.charts file that is *shared* among
instances.
That's why the last saved copy overwrites previous saves.
To have independent copies you can install into 2 locations
or you can just create a new shortcut with different "Start In" propertly.
AmiBroker will always look into broker.charts file located in "Start In"
directory
so you can create multiple directories for different instances and they will
not share settings if "start in" property of 2 (or more) different shortcuts
to
AmiBroker will be different.

Sorry forgot to say that I save the layout. When I re-open later to that
database the indicator panel is there, just the empty and the IB window
formula is empty. So it is the formula that is not being saved.

During trading hours I have AB open for the intraday and the EOD databases.
I have found that any changes made to the indicator windows made in the
first one closed are lost. This includes any formula in the IB windows, name
changes etc. Quite often a new indicator I have added will be totally
blanked out due to the formula disappearing, and the name reverts back to an
old name I had deleted, mostly one of the built in examples that come with
AB. I have learnt to always save new formula to an afl file as I need to
reload it and rename it in the IB window.
Does anyone else experience this, or do I just have a setting incorrectly
set, or doing something wrong.
Asking the group before I approach Tomasz.
