As to your suggestions:
1. I don't think this is required, scanning 7000 symbols
should be completed in a matter of few minutes. If this is
not the case on your machine it means that something is
wrong with your database. If you are using Yahoo for updates
please check if Data source
in File->Database Settings is set to (local).
2. This will be added in one of the future versions ,
but will require modification of AmiQuote to support
individual from-to ranges for every ticker, to optimize
download time.
