your chart to place a range start, click again to set the range end. choose 
view/zoom/range. You can clear by clicking out side of the time range. This was 
introduced a couple of betas ago. See the Read me file....

OK,
I'm obviously missing something here, but can someone tell me 
what the white triangle at the bottom of each of the three plots 
means?
It doesn't appear to correlate with any settings that I 
have.
No, I didn't use PlotShapes or ApplyStop.
