I have already stopped my data feed from TCnet because my plan was to use
Amibroker EOD yahoo data, and have my son come over and assist me in
getting up to speed using Amibroker. I found out that he is not as
proficient as I had hoped he would be, and I am finding less time to learn
than I thought I would have. I have not given up on amibroker, but while
am learning, I have decided to install TC2000 in lieu of my inactive TCnet,
and start the TC2000 data again. I am looking for suggestions of how to
solve my 2 computer dilemma.
I have Amibroker installed on my desktop, and I want to uninstall my
inactive TCnet from my notebook, and then install TC2000 back into my
notebook. I am looking for suggestions for how I can get the copy of
Amibroker in my desktop to access the TC2000 data that will be in my
notebook.
In order to stimulate your thinking, I have copied some yahoo posts I have
seen regarding ways to transfer data between computers. Any comments will
be greatly appreciated. Ron D

I use a program called Lap-Link Pro. I then connect both machines
thru a UBS port on both machines with their cable. I then do a
complete folder copy from one machine to another. It is probably one
of the fastest ways to copy from machine to machine. AOL will only
allow much smaller files as an attachment. The Vectorvest32.MDB file
can be up to 1 gigabite.

I believe you can just use Windows peer to peer networking. No software
needed. Just a cable between computers.

Laplink is used to transfer folders and/or files from one
computer to another. It's up to you which folder/file or drive you
want the file transfered to and or which folder/file to be
overwritten (an example might be to replace on older file with a
newer file). My Data base (.MDB) files were so large that I could
not fit them on a floppy or a 700 mb disc to transfer to my laptop.
When I connected my machines with a cable my backup problems
dissapeared. P.S. Laplink can also be used over phone line, cable or
DSL lines. If the files on TC2000 and Amibroker are compatible its
worth a try.

Laplink is an excellent program -- just don't lose your connector cable.
I used it to keep huge DbaseV database files updated from my sales
manager and we did it strictly by remote over telephone lines. Worked
like a charm.
