Hi, Yong,
I used TC2000 for almost two years before looking for more
sophisticated TA software like Metastock and Amibroker. If you were
new to investment or if you used a combination of fundamental and
technical analyses, TC2000 would be a good place to start. It's user
friendly and easier to learn. However, there are so many things that
TC2000 can't do as a TA platform, so you are well advised to consider
either Metastock and Amibroker if you are more heavily into TA.
I also own Metastock, but find the interface confusing and
difficult to navigate, especially the layouts and the templates.
It's now sitting on the shelf collecting dust. I now use exclusively
Amibroker. Besides, it is with Amibroker that I have learned the
most about TA over the past several months since I bought it. And
with the excellent support and constant improvement by Thomasz and
the collaborate spirit on this board, you can't find anything
comparable at that price.
As for TC2000, it now serves mostly as datafeed. In fact, I'm
considering switching to QP2, since at around the same price, I also
get mutual funds and commodities. The only advantage with TC2000, as
far as I am concerned, is that it offers intraday updates.
In any case, try these out and see which of these you are most
comfortable with at your stage of the game.
Good luck,
KC
