<SPAN

Tomasz
can probably speak to the difference in data base structure but from my
experience the QP data base is very fast. There may be a slight speed advantage
using the native AB data but that few seconds is surely not worth a 15 min shut
down.

Just
out of curiosity go to your tree... Click "All". is the first listing a stock or
index or is it perhaps something that looks like
()

If so
you have accumulated some junk that needs to be erased. Go to Symbols/Organize.
Check Markets. Under Undefined select (click and drag) all the way down the box
until you find the first stock or index. Now that all the junk is
highlighted press delete. The system will appear frozen and this may take a
while (several minutes) but once complete you should see a speed up in both
loading and shut down.

I do
not know what causes the corruption but I do get it occasionally and this
"Works"

[amibroker] Re: Extremely lengthy shutdown
processJayson,I knew that the local database
was not specifically necessary when uing QP, but I thought I had read in a
previous message from Tomasz on the board that maintaining the local storage
was imperative in order to facilitate the fastest possible operation of
backtests and explorations, so I have scrupuloulsy maintained the local
database ever since. Is this not correct? Is eliminating the
local database the only way to correct the lengthy shutdown? Will
doing so slow down backtesting and explorations? Thanks for your
response,Best Regards,Nick Molchanoff--- In
