I reada note
from someone in another forum who said Gann did not make money trading, only
from writing books.  Don't know if it is true or not.

Re: SPY ConfluenceTwo points should be kept in mind when
thinking about Gann: 1) Gann was a swing trader, he tried to anticipate a
change in trend     and wait for conformation. 2) He
was always looking for something to make he's trading better,
( Jeez I'm always doing that too, maybe I'll become a geat trader)
The Guru's that say they have the secret (for $0000's they'll teach you),
I'm sure, that the phase "IF YOU CAN'T BLIND THEM WITH SCIENCE, BAFFEL
THEM WITH BULLSHIT" came from a student of one of these Guru's that woke
up to what was going on but anything you can take from Gann that works
then don't knock it.
There's a yahoo news group called GANNSTUDYGROUP where a guy called
super romeman is posting original papers from Gann, take a look if you
want to see some good stuff.

 Wavemechanic,
I have spent some time looking at Gann. There is a lot of
interesting stuff. I feel that we should have at least have
some familiarity with the concepts as part of our overall
learning.
However, a problem I have found is this. With so many lines and
circles on the page, you are probably bound to get a 'hit'
somewhere. And you can see all these points looking
backwards.
The challenge is to be able to use the technique looking
forwards.
On this point, some say they have mastered the 'secret(s?) of
Gann', but when it comes to the actual practice, from mostyou
hear little raising speculation that most cursory methods just
may not be useful to the extent hindsight seems to
indicate.
Just my thoughts,
