Welcome - this makes me no longer the new kid on the block. I now can
use AFL (after a few weeks), but I am sure that I made many of the
same errors and had many questions that you will have. Some advice:

1) Make use of the beginner boards on the amibroker website. It is
less read than this site, but TJ and others are extremely generous
with their awnswers, and no question is too dumb.

2) Learn some beginners VBscript or Jscript - there are some
instances where I found it necessary to solve a problem with a little
4 or 5 line VB program. (Other, more competent at AFL than I, may
have found an elegant AFL solution).

3) Stay at it, and read the many sample scripts in the help manual
and newsletters. One morning, I woke up and AFL made sense, but I
struggled for a few weeks.

4) I found it far more useful to learn AFL before trying out all the
other menu driven bells and whistles (which I still have not
internalised). Once you've got AFL, the rest is far less intimidating

If you have a question that is so dumb, that you are too embarassed
to go to the forums, please e-mail me privately if you choose - I
have been there.

Good luck

Steve
