Louw,

Just a further tip on the "New Listings"; if there are
no shares in "New Listings" it will dissappear. If you are using Sharenet's
daily download you will notice that there is a "share" called eofeof (whichis
the end of file of the
download). Allocating eofeof to "New Listings" will always keep "New Listings"
open.

Thankyou very much for the tip....I created on my
hard drive a main folder with subfolder for the Sectors and inside them the
industries folders....I used the " Downloader " ( thanks to
Wavemechanic for the tip ) to convert all the files frommy
backup CD to all these folders,  I then imported each file separately and
moved them to there proper industries and groups....now everything is well
again....the " New Listing" folder that ended up empty at the end will now
only contain new listing every day that is not in the database
already.....

phew what a job, but it is done and thing now
work the way they should.....

Remember the problem I had with the Portfolio and
the Sharenet data, well when you spoke about the $volumefacter in a recent
reply, I remembered seeing something like $pricefactor ....I made a small
entry in my custom made import file and now all prices are 100 % correct for
use with the portfolio manager -----Yippeeee now it works What a
treat..........

To everyone
!

Thankyou very much for all the suggestions for
the problems I have had....we have never met  yet you are all so kind
thank you very much.

If I make a small request it would be tosomehow
have a notepad function in AB which on request will remember small notes
linked to the share in view....e.g..  If I'm looking one of our Bank
Shares e.g.. ABSA and I wish to record a note or two or a comment for future
reference I can just click on "Notes" and write/edit my notes instead of
trying to cram it on the Graph screen...when I call up a graph of a shareand
click on notes, I will be shown previous notes....just a though, would benice
though...other than that we have the privilege to work with an ace
programme.

Keep well all

Kind regards

Script

Louw,

You do NOT need to write a script to relocateshares
to other groups.

By default all shares download to the first "market"
under "Markets" in your browser tree until they are reallocated .
Rename this first "market" to "New Listings". Any new shares will
automatically settle there and will remain there until you reallocate them
manually to other market/sectors/industries.

Subject: [amibroker] Import
Script

Hi all ....

Please help again....

When updating from an ASCII file that does
NOT include industry ID's, i want to create a script to help me locate new
shares that has been listed.....in order to manualy locate them to the
right industries....

1.  I want to set up a group under
"groups"
2.  I want the script to check if the
shares in the update file exists in my database.
3.  The ones that do not exist are
obviousely newly added shares....these must be imported the the "group"
created in step 1.

Now everyday i will be aware of newly listed
shares to enable me to move them to the proper groups /
industries....

All help will greatly be
appreciated...

Kind regards
