Splits

When I inform amibroker of a split at a specified date it seems to divide
the prices before the date and after the date by the split factor. This
doesn't seem particularly useful. I would have expected it to divide the
prices before the split date by the factor and leave the prices on or after
the date alone. Am I miusing this feature or missing something?
