Here are a few more suggestions to improve an already great product.
1. Backtest Report:
Add heading info to the report so that user can identify date and time
report was run plus details of all the relevant settings affecting report
content i.e. date range, AFLs, filters ...etc. (i.e. all information
necessary to reproduce report should be included there).
2. Backtest Report:
Now AB systems can trade both long and short all performance statistics
really need to be split by long and short so that we can evaluate
performance on both sides. Combined statistics are of course still
important.
3. Backtest - Equity Curves.
It would extremely useful to have the facility to save mutiple system test
results and be able to plot their equity curves for comparison ( a picture
is worth a thousand words!). I realise you can probably do this with export
to spreadsheet etc. but an integrated feature would be much nicer.
4. Hot Keys:
Hot keys would considerably speed up some processes e.g. scrolling thru lots
of charts. The ones I particularly miss being used to Metastock are:-
Zoom in/out
Scroll chart left/right
Next/previous stock
5. Charts: Display of indicator values:
In top line of indicator panes display the corresponding indicator value for
that bar as slider/cross hair moves across bars. Price pane already behaves
in this manner.
6. Charts with Guru attached:
Display somewhere (price pane title line?) the name of the attached guru.
