Hi Johan,
I'm an American and my native is English and I am having the
same "challenge" as you in regards to AB. I also have read and reread
the manual and many of the weekly newsletters Tomasz is putting out.
What I'm doing is taking small steps working up to bigger steps. I
start out with a basic Metastock formula and translate into AB and
keep working at it till I get it to work. This may seem slow, but
it's working for me.
As for your wanting to put all American stocks in your universe, look
in the Files section on your left. A fellow Amibrokerite (is this
correct?:) named BretF1 wrote a file with all the US stocks you could
ever want. I thought he said the file held 9700 symbols.I haven't
personally downloaded this file but I haven't read any complaints.
As for your other questions, I recall someone posting something about
CSI data a day or two ago. You may want to check back posts. I am
using Yahoo and do not yet have a need to pay for data. And about
speed for downloading, I have not timed it, but it can't take me
longer that 5 minutes to download 1400 stock data into AB. I assume
you have them in a Amiquote file. After I download the data,I minimize
Amiquote, Open Ambroker, open AscII import.I then go to the very last
stock in the file, press "shift" and then click onto the last synbol.
They all get highlighted. Next hit open and they all get downloaded
into AB. I'm doing this off memory so if anything is wrong could
someone please chime in.
This is all I feel confortable answering due to my lack of abilities.
Hope this helps,
John
