Re: [amibroker] Quote Update

Hi Tomasz,

Thanks for such an excellent program!! I have the registered
version, but I must not be communicating my problem effectively.

I have a source of ASCII quotes which I update each night. I have
created a new workspace and saved it (the database) in that
directory. Ami has created a file (broker.workspace) in that
directory and created subdirectories 0-9, a-z, index, etc.and moved
all the files into to correct directory (some notice that this was
going to happen would be nice). When I import these symbols into
Ami, they display beautifully (did I say this is a great program?) up
to the last date of the particular ASCII file. When I save, exit, and
restart Ami, they are still there perfectly as would be expected. My
problem is after my ASCII quotes are updated and I restart Ami,
my charts do not display to new (updated) data. If I delete the chart
and reload it, it is of course, just fine showing the latest data. This
behavior is different than what I am used to, having used Metastock
in the 80s, Trade Station in the 90s, and mostly Super Charts for
the last 5 years. All of these load the most recent data from their
respective quote sources when they are opened. My question is:
How do I get Ami to load the most recent data when I open the
program? I have to admit that I often miss the obvious.

A secondary question: Is there a way to display an indicator in the
main price window? If I want to display the price with an indicator it
seems that I need to use something like: graphX = close;

I have a list of user interface ideas as well as many other
suggestions that I will send someday, but when a person writes a
fast, powerful, and stable (mostly) program, one needs to go easy.
The programming language in Ami is perfect!! The increase to 100
indicators is just right. I am looking forward to making Ami a
mainstay of my end of day trading.

Thanks for an excellent work of art,
Jerry Coopmans
