First - thank you for trying AmiBroker. Note to other mail list subscribers- I am posting a reply here because
more people could benefit. Hope you understand.
To the problem:
I think that the point is that your data are one-day only and AmiBroker needs at least 3 days to show the chart.
Please check also to select 29 December 2000 in the date picker within Quick review - because your data
are coming only from that date.
Just to ensure that you are correct with setting up the importer I am attaching three screenshots that show
correct settings for your data file:
Figure 1: Note that your data file uses more than 8 columns so "More columns" must be checked.
Also second field defines periodicity (daily) and it should be skipped by the importer (as shown)
Figure 2: If you add previously defined format to ASCII importer definitions you will be able
to re-use it straight in ASCII importer (by selecting "My format for Futures" from "Files of type" combo)
Figure 3: Shows your quotes successfully imported into AmiBroker.
Best regards,
Tomasz Janeczko

Subject: [amibroker] Loading ASCII data
Good Day!
You've done a great job with the program and I plan on becoming an owner as soon as I can figure out how to import the attached futures price data file. I've gone through the wizard and even edited the file in excel to make it look like a Metastock ASCII file but I'm not doing something right. Ican't see the data in Amibroker when I use Quick Market View or in a chart. Tom (or anybody else for that matter) what the heck am I doing wrong.
