Yeah we all did fortran a LONG time ago. Its upto Fortran 95 now after
Fortran 66, 77, 90, so 2000 must be close by.

Its still the language of choice in physics and aerospace when high
computational speed is needed. I've checked on my PC and Fortran compiled
programs run at least 2 -3 x faster than C etc. BTW did you know that at
the core of MATLAB is fortran computation.
