Yes, this is known problem - curently date fields are sorted according to alphabetic (ASCII) order

Portfolio Manager will be completely rewritten soon. So no small fixes/improvements

No editing now -> this will change (see above note)

Join should be used when you bought the same stock a few times so you have multiple
entries in the portfolio list and want to join them to have one entry and average buying price
- especially useful if you want to sell the stocks in one order (and one commission)
