Good news from the users from Australia:
There is a mailing list on eGroups called stockmarketupdates:
http://www.egroups.com/group/stockmarketupdates
that distributes end-of-day quotes in the following text format:
Code,Date,Open,High,Low,Close,Volume
(example
AAP,20000706,6.01300,6.09000,5.92000,6.00000,830053.00000 )
You can also obtain free long historical data for ASX in that format from:
http://www.australian-stockmarket.com/download.html
I wrote appropriate .format file and updated import.types file so you
can directly import such files into AmiBroker.
Here are the instructions:
Attached to this e-mail you will find to files: import.types and prnn.format.
Please copy them to AmiBroker main directory (where it was installed).
Then launch AmiBroker, select import ASCII option.
In the file dialog please select "PRN format w/Ticker" from "Files of type" combo.
Then select one or more *.prn files you want to import (multiple selection possible
by holding SHIFT or CTRL key) and click OK.
AmiBroker will import the data and you will see stocks added to the list.
