A quick look at an interesting fact from today's trading session

3 is the total number of times we've seen the indices swing 5% up one day, and 4% down the next.  It's never happened for the S&P 500 until this week, and using the DJIA it hasn't happened since 1932 (again, the 1930's proving to be the only time in history matching our current volatility).  The other dates were 11/04/29, 09/24/31 and 02/15/32.  None of them marked a low, but were within a week or so of one.
