A quick look at an interesting fact from today's trading session

72% is the percentage of time the Dow Jones Industrial Average has been positive from the end of the first week of November through the first three days of the new year, averaging +2.5%, since 1897.  Since 1950, that increased to 83% of the time with an average of +3.4%.  When the Dow was down 10% or more in the two months leading up to the first week of November, then it was positive through the first few days of the new year 8 out of 10 times with an average of +5.5%.
