did anybody ever see the movie 'who killed the electric car?' gm had a saturn that was electric. they released it at the same time they released the hummer. infact, the governator of california, arnold schwarzenegger rolled out in an electric versoin of the hummer. maybe it only worked for 20 miles before it needed to be recharged, but gm was working on it.
gm finally recalled the 80 or so electric saturns that they sold and destroyed them in a heavily secured area.
i believe the cars went about 70 miles an hour and lasted for a couple hundred miles before needing to be recharged.
in the end, the hummer won out. it's an interesting movie, if just for the conspiracy speculation sake in us.

Iʼd feel safe riding around in that golf cart with a tin can bent around it (NOT) when I look up at the stoplight to a Hummer. That thing makes the Corvair look like a Sherman tank. Do you know how to spell Ralph Nader? My understanding is the US standards for safety inhibit if not prohibit the compressed gas technologies.
