Re: [RT] stock swing trading?

PureBytes Links

Trading Reference Links

I have seen paid services that search out stocks which trade in a range so a trader can get in near the bottom and out near the top but I have always simply done my own research because pattern or no pattern, if I'm going long, it will have to match my other criteria first.

I hope your friend is a professional trader because options can eat an account of size like it was a snack.  I use options but I use them to protect myself, not to gamble with.  If the premium is steep, you have to make up that "house cut" before your position has true value and if it isn't steep, you need to find out why it isn't.

Good luck to both of you,

Bob

I had a friend ask me a question today, that I am sure has a good general answer but I did not know the answer.  Maybe a few on this list we have an idea.

My friend wants to swing trade some stocks.  Time frame of maybe 3 days to 3 weeks.  Depending on the charts and what is happening.
But, with thousands of stocks, he wants a small list of say 10 to 30 stocks that on average generally have been good stocks to swing trade.
He wants a list of good moving swing trading stocks and only follow and trade that list. Stocks that over time have shown to work good with this type of trading.
I know he uses charts and technicals for his trading signals, but not sure exactly what he willl be using.
I guess the main things he is trying to do is:
Not have to scan all stocks for setups,
When he gets a signal to trade, he will be hopefully trading in a stock that in the past has shown to  be a good swing trading stock.
He will have only one list of stocks to study.

Anyone have any ideas or a list of stocks like this?
One other thing.  They would have to be optionable, because he wants to trade options.

 Thanks,
